IRON PONY ADVENTURE PARK
Aerial Course Construction & Technical Installations
This project was completed during my tenure with Experiential Systems, Inc. (ESI), prior to founding Untethered Fox Solutions. As part of the ESI team, I contributed to the development of Iron Pony Adventure Park, the newest aerial adventure attraction on Chincoteague Island. The course features 30+ obstacles across two levels, where guests traverse tight ropes, ladders, balance beams, wobbly bridges, cargo nets, and other elevated challenges while secured in full-body harnesses.
Working under ESI, my role focused on hands-on construction, installation, and rigging to ensure the course met structural, operational, and safety expectations. Responsibilities included:
Installing cables, hardware, and structural supports across both levels
Aligning elements and assessing load paths for proper function and durability
Installing platforms, bridges, nets, and connection points
Performing final adjustments, tuning, and course optimization
Supporting layout decisions involving guest flow, obstacle spacing, and maintenance approaches
The park also includes the Pony Plunge, a 26-foot leap-of-faith jump element. I contributed to the installation and setup of this feature to ensure reliable performance and a thrilling guest experience.
This project reflects the depth of experience I gained while working with Experiential Systems, Inc., and it remains an important foundation of the technical rigging and adventure-park installation expertise I bring forward today.
